Let it be known that you have, as a party, now consumed your one free retcon.
I do not retcon for player or DM mistakes. If a +1 is forgotten somewhere, it is lost to the ether. Remember it next round. If you could have done something else better, you've missed your chance. Chalk it up to your character only having 3 or 4 seconds to think on his/her feet.
The only time I will consider letting you retcon is if you have done something that you believe is wildly out of character...and only if you let me know almost immediately (or...just edit your post before anybody sees). If a day comes and goes and characters have responded, then you'll have to find some way to integrate that into your RP.
I'm sorry if this makes me a doodie head, but this is how I roll.
Play "Yes, and..."
Don't be concerned with your characters being absolutely perfect and optimizing everything you can do all the time.
There is beauty in imperfection.
Etc...
