I was thinking about running a gnome or human oracle; though a I'd be willing to try a bard if oracle isn't an option.

I'm APG friendly. My Friday night game has an Inquisitor currently, and I'm using one of the archetypes.
For starting gold, you can take average or roll it up here or in the roll it thread.

My character is named Moira Barrowdark, an elven conjuror who specializes in teleportation and summoning magic. By trade she is a cartographer, and loves making maps of both the land and the heavens.
I'll have the full character sheet and writeup posted in the character sheets page hopefully by tonight.

I think that I will be going with a gnome oracle with the heavens mystery. Would playing the character as a young beggar child, who happens to manifest oracular powers be ok for the setting?

I will be honest, the campaign is unlikely to involve a child the way it's set up...what relative human age are you thinking, because I would want to see some adjustments to the statistics as well.
